Giving with Heart

On February 12, 2011, members of EZE Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega volunteered their services to help with the annual Valentine's Day Banquet at the Downtown Rescue Mission.  Those attending were Lynley Cooper, Judy Brolliar, Pam Berry, and Alice Anne Vargo.  We helped with decorating tables, walls, preparing utensil packs, and helped clean up the chapel and fellowship hall there at the mission.  We had signed up to help also with serving lunch, but due to a large number of  other volunteers, we helped in other areas that were needed.  Thanks to Lynley for organizing our day of service.

The Huntsville Times ran a story on Wednesday, January 26th about Auburn University's current head cheerleader, Jenny Groux.  Jenny is a graduate from Bob Jones High School and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega at Auburn.  A picture of Jenny from the BCS National Championship game can be found on the Madison Weekly's website.  The story from The Times is not available online.

Collegiate Luncheon

On December 28th, Epsilon Zeta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega hosted a luncheon for area collegiates at Victoria's Cafe.  We had twenty people to attend the luncheon.  Collegiates were greeted by the alumnae and  were asked to sign the guestbook and update their e-mail address for our records.  We had collegiates from the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Birmingham Southern College, and Vanderbilt University. After a brief meet and greet, sorority member sat down for a delicious lunch.   Collegiates were given a Christmas Ornament, in celebration of the occasion, that featured an angel with a Lyre.   Alumnae attending were Alice Anne Vargo, Carol Gaines, Kathryn Martinson, Sophia Burwell, Mary Beth Jernigan, Pam Berry, Lynley Cooper, and Lisa Bowen.   Collegiates attending were Lindsay Vargo, Meg Adams, Sarah Beth Thompson, Rachel Botts, Laura Cauthen, Sara Millberger,  Lauren Schuster, Caroline Thompson, Kristen Gravlee, Juliana Toney, Courtney Campbell, and Liesel Burks.  We had a great turnout and hope we can continue the tradition!

Angel Tree Philanthropy

This year the Epsilon Zeta Epsilon chapter has adopted an 11 year old named Terry as our angel and we will be providing Christmas for him.  We could use all the help we can get to provide Terry with a wonderful Christmas! If you wish to participate you can bring your unwrapped gift to Mary Beth's house on Tuesday, December 7th for our December meeting and Christmas ornament/gift swap.

Terry wears a medium shirt, has a 30 inch waist, and wears a size 7 shoe.  He would like clothes or anything off of the following wish list for Christmas.

1. DVD's
2. Cd's
3. McDonald's gift cards
4. Movie tickets
5. Bike/helmet
6. Watch
7. Outdoor toys
8. Sports toys

Thanks for helping us make a miracle for a little boy in our area!
